Dr. Paul McNeer attended Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia and received his medical degree from The Medical College of Virginia.

He served his Internship at Petersburg General Hospital. Dr. McNeer’s residency in ophthalmology was completed at University of Tennessee, and he continued his training at the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, obtaining a Fellowship in Medical & Surgical Diseases of the Retina.

In 1970, Dr. McNeer established his private practice in Richmond VA. He has served on the teaching faculty, as Assistant Clinical Professor, in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia. From 1994 – 2002 he served on the Medical Advisory Board, Department of Motor Vehicles for the Commonwealth of Virginia, Office of the Governor.

In 2005, Dr. McNeer joined Commonwealth Eye Care Associates, where he continues his dedication to individualized and excellent patient care.
